Collection and Tracking of Personal Information
In order to provide you with the most efficient and enhanced service, we request information about you. We collect personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses and demographic information. We also may collect your IP address, browser type, domain name, access times and referring Web site address. This information is collected both during registration on a site or in response to specific requests, for example when signing up for a newsletter, entering a sweepstakes or contest or answering a survey.
We store and may publicly display your submissions in orde
r to provide the services that we offer. When we display your submissions, we do so together with your member name. The term "submissions" refers to the information that you submit or post to the Bracesquestions Sites for public display, such as Forum Posts.
Business Listings. Bracesquestions strives to provide users with the most accurate and updated information regarding orthodontic providers. If you are a business owner, you can edit your business listing. To do this, first search for your listing by typing in your office address in the Find an Orthodontist search box. You should be directed to a page with many orthodontist listings. Find your listing and click on it. You should then see a page with just your listing information. Click on the Edit this listing link to edit your listing or delete it completely if you no longer wish to be listed., click on “Update Business Info” on your provider page to make changes to your business listing or delete it completely if you no longer wish to be listed.
Account Information. If you register for an account to take advantage of the full range of services offered on the Site, we ask for and record personal information such as your name and email address. We may use your email address to send you updates and news. You may choose not to receive e-mail of this type by accessing the "Account" tab on the Site and updating your notification settings.
Activity. We record information relating to your use of the Site, such as the searches you undertake, the pages you view, your browser type, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp information. We use this type of information to administer the Site and provide the highest possible level of service to you. We also use this information in the aggregate to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Site. You cannot be identified from this aggregate information.
Feedback. If you contact us to provide feedback, register a complaint, or ask a question, we will record any personal information and other content that you provide in your communication so that we can effectively respond to your communication.
1. Keeping count of return visits to the Site or our advertisers' or partners' sites;
2. Accumulating and reporting anonymous, aggregate (data collected in mass), statistical information on Web-site and advertisement usage;
3. Determining which features our overall user population likes best;
4. Saving your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our sites;
5. Displaying the most appropriate advertising or content based on your interests.
By adjusting your settings on your browser, you may elect not to allow cookies to be collected. Please note that if you choose to disable cookies, some areas of the Site may not work properly or at all.
Web Beacons. We may use standard Internet tools, such as web beacons, which collect information that tracks your use of the Site and enables us to customize our services and advertisements. These images allow us to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services. We also may include Web beacons in promotional e-mail messages or newsletters in order to count how many messages have been opened and acted upon. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information but they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about our Web site usage. Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, originating IP address, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. Some of our Web pages may also contain Web beacons placed there by our advertising partners to help us determine the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
How We Use the Information
We use personal information so that we may display custom, personalized content to our visitors and send newsletters, emails, features, promotional material, surveys and other updates to our users. A user may, at any time, opt out of receiving such information. We also use collected information to evaluate and administer our service, respond to any problems that may arise and to gauge user trends to determine what part of our services are most popular with users.

You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose information online (whether through Bracesquestions’ services or any other service available online), personal or otherwise, that information can be collected and used by others. For example, if you use chat, forums, bulletin boards, your e-mail or if you post personal information online, you may receive unsolicited messages from others. Bracesquestions has no control over this use of your personal information.
We will make your personally identifiable information available to other companies or people when:
1. You have elected to allow us to share that information at the time that you registered with us or provided us the information, or through a subsequent affirmative election through our website.
2. You volunteer information or create a public profile in the course of your participation in our community features such as forums, user opinions and reviews, chat rooms, photo sharing or other forms of public communication and interaction.
3. We hire third-party vendors to provide specialized services such as customer support; email message deployment; suppression, merge and de-duplication services; data processing; and special products or services that you have requested. These companies are only allowed to use the information in order to help us fulfill our services to you. We do not provide your information to these companies for their own, permanent use.
4. You unsubscribe for a mailing that we send to you on behalf of a third party. We may share your removal instruction with the third party so that it may be added to that person’s list of people to whom they may not send emails.
5. You are the winner of a contest or a sweepstakes that is co-sponsored with a third party and that third party needs your information in order to manage the prize fulfillment process.
6. When required by law, such as when we respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process.
Third Parties Collecting Non-Personal Information on Bracesquestions’ Behalf
We allow other companies that are presenting advertisements on our sites and, sometimes, in our newsletters to use tracking technology on your computer. We do not give any personally identifiable information to them as part of this relationship. Unless you visit the Web site of these companies and provide them with personally identifiable information about yourself, these tracking technologies tell those advertisers nothing about who you are. Our advertisers' use of tracking technology is subject to their own privacy policies.
Reviewing and Updating Your Personal Information
A user may, at any time, change, correct, modify or delete any personal information they may have provided to Bracesquestions by visiting the Setting tab located on the their Profile Page. Users can also unsubscribe from any newsletters or opt out of various promotional emailings at any time by visiting their Profile section.
You can review, correct, or change the information collected during registration for the Site. The instructions for doing this can be found in our member-services areas. Users may change information at any time and as often as necessary. Users who are experiencing problems with our services or who have questions about how our services work can contact us using e-mail. Our contact information is available here.
As a service to our users, Bracesquestions features Public Areas (including but not limited to the BQ Community, Blogs, Profiles, and Forums) where users can share information and support one another or where users can post questions for other users to answer. Any information shared (including Personally Identifiable Information) that you reveal in a Public Area posting or online discussion is by design open to the public and is not a private, secure service. You should think carefully before disclosing any Personally Identifiable Information in any Public Areas. What you have written may be seen, disclosed to or collected by third parties and may be used by others in ways we are unable to control or predict, including to contact you for unauthorized purposes.

None of the sites on Bracesquestions is designed or intended to attract children under the age of 13. We operate our network of sites in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and do not permit registration by, and will not knowingly collect or use personally identifiable information from, anyone under 13 years of age. This requirement is clearly posted during the registration process.
A parent or guardian, however, may establish a Bracesquestions account for a minor. The parent or guardian is solely responsible for providing supervision of the minor's use of Bracesquestions. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for ensuring that the registration information is kept secure and that the information submitted is accurate. The parent or guardian also assumes full responsibility for the interpretation and use of any information or suggestions provided through Bracesquestions for the minor.
You may choose to provide us with another person's e-mail address so that person may be invited to create an account on this website and become your friend. We use this information to contact and, if necessary, remind that person about the invitation. By providing us with another person's e-mail address, you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of the person concerned as regards such disclosure to us of their personal information. All invitees are provided with the option not to receive further invitations. We may disclose such information if required to do so in order to comply with legal process, as described above
