Now that you have braces, it is important to take care of them and not break anything during treatment. When a part of your braces breaks, your teeth can stop moving and sometimes can even move the wrong way! This can result in you having to wear braces for a longer time than originally planned.

It is also important to brush and floss your teeth well when you have braces. Proper brushing is vital to keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Poor brushing can cause permanent damage to your teeth. This damage can be in the form of permanent white spots, brown spots, cavities, and/or gum disease

Please see the following links which will explain what not to eat when you have braces, how to brush your teeth with braces, and how to floss.
