Certain orthodontic problems are more easily corrected at specific periods of growth and development.  Waiting to start orthodontic treatment until all permanent teeth have erupted may lead to difficulty in correcting some types of problems.  Early orthodontic treatment in some cases can improve your child’s likelihood of achieving a beautiful, well-functioning bite and smile.  Below are examples of some common orthodontic problems in children.  If you think your child has one of these problems, bring your child to see an orthodontist to find out if it is better to start treatment early or wait until more baby teeth have fallen out.
